The Alaskan real estate industry is expected to bloom according to top economists. This is due to at least seven national retailers have Anchorage in mind as the location to expand in 2016. These include big names such as Sonic, Victoria’s Secret, Dave and Busters, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Whole Foods, Duluth Trading Company and Smashburger.
An increase in demand for jobs and possible relocation will also be in place once the plan is executed despite recent reports of falling oil prices and state budget deficit.
This is also in line with other new multi-million dollar construction projects that are expected to be completed throughout 2016. New buildings included a new fire station on Rabbit Creek Road, an addition to the Anchorage Museum in Downtown Anchorage, ASD elementary and middle school remodels as well as an F-35 simulator at the Air Force Base.
2016 promises a great year for the real estate market as long as there will be an adequate building of housing. One hurdle is the delays when it comes obtaining permits from the Municipality of Anchorage for developers.
If you are planning to relocate or move to Anchorage, or perhaps looking to buy a home you can seek the assistance of a real estate professional to help you look for your ideal home.
